Handbuilding 2.0 (5 week class)

Class Description

Are you ready to take your handbuilding to the next level? In this 5 week intermediate handbuilding class, we will dive into new ways of sculpting, troubleshooting, and decorating your work. We will cover topics like building strong pieces, repairing cracks when they do arise, and using mason stains to add color and depth. Jess will bring in reference photos of other ceramic artists for inspiration and discussion about the strategies they use to achieve their results.

This class is limited to eight students, ensuring that each participant gets ample individualized attention. Some clay experience recommended.

What to Expect

All clay, glazes, and firing will be provided. This class includes Open Studio at RECC! You will have access to their ceramics facilities during their usual hours, which you can book using their scheduling software. Students will receive an email the week prior to the workshop with access instructions. Full refunds are available up to one week before the class.

Sliding Scale

Sliding scale options are available in the following quantities:

Higher Tier: $360 - 2 spots
Standard Tier: $310 - 4 spots
Lower Tier: $260 - 2 spots

Please note that the actual value of the class is $310. If you choose the lower tier, you are receiving a discount. The higher tier spots are for those with ample financial resources - your participation in these spots allow me to offer more accessible programming, which is one of the core tenets of my practice.
